Law No. (11) of 2004 With respect to Premarital Screening
This law requires the Ministry of Health to regulate and administer premarital medical examinations.
This law mandates that the Ministry of Health organize and administer premarital medical examinations, raise awareness of their importance, and provide medical guidance based on the results. It also requires Bahraini citizens intending to marry to undergo the examination for both parties, obligates marriage officiants to verify the examination certificate before finalizing the marriage contract, and imposes fines on anyone who violates the provisions for conducting or documenting the examination.
